My Story

How I Learned To Build My Coaching Practice

When I was 24 years old, I graduated from the Faculty of Sports in Ljubljana and ended my professional sports career as a volleyball player. At that point, I had to start over and find my new identity because professional sports and getting a formal education were all I knew till then.

I started to work as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach. After a few years of helping various clients, from weekend warriors to elite athletes, reach their goals, I got more experienced and realized that the results I wanted to provide for my clients were limited by the multidisciplinary teams I worked in and was a part of.

Therefore I established my own coaching practice and organized a multidisciplinary team around me, a team in which I profoundly believe.

Within months, I started to create way more value for my clients than before, which was a game-changer for me and for my clients.

For the first time in my life, I felt really independent and confident in my work. I was collaborating only with people I believed in, with people who were doing something that helped everyone I worked with.

It was also very fulfilling to help people become more successful. The work was interesting, the clients were interesting, and the business model really worked for my lifestyle.

It feels like I’ve been a coach all my life, so for more than 30 years now, but somehow I haven’t realized that before. I have gained a lot of experience so far, but it is a lifelong journey of education and new realizations.
